Partslink Monthly Download Files with Pricing

Data Derivatives currently offers two sets of data, new parts and recycled parts. Our new parts data covers all aftermarket parts sold in this country, so if it's not in our database either you can't get it, or it just got here.

The recycled database covers all bumper parts made that are currently being recycled. This information is updated each time a new part is produced, or year range is added. Both sets of data include three files.

· A complete updated monthly file that includes all the data available.

· Another file that just shows new changes such as adds, supersessions or discontinued parts,

· The last file contains information on the file structure that will assist
you in understanding the data and it's entries.

We Pass Partslink data against the most recent OEM part numbers available.

After a lengthy research process to insure each number is valid with proper descriptions, year ranges, CAPA designation and pricing, the numbers are then checked for supersession information. DataDerivatives maintains a lengthy supersession history on all parts in the system to increase the hits on our
data when submitted to the estimating systems.

After this data is updated to get the hits in the estimating systems that
you have been after, now all you need to know where to set your prices to be competitive. We also supply the most recent part prices anywhere. Now all you do is use your knowledge of the industry in setting your margins.

CAPA Data files and Software Utility

CAPA Utility Software from DataDerivatives provides collision parts distributors with the ability to accurately and rapidly verifies the status of CAPA certified parts.

Simply enter a vehicle year, make and model in our Windows® based program, and a list of all CAPA Certified parts available for that vehicle is displayed. This display includes OEM reference numbers, OEM list price, the Partslink number as well as the aftermarket manufacturer and their part number. If a part is listed, it is CAPA Certified. If a part is not listed, it is not certified.

Entering a Partslink or OEM part number will display all CAPA Certified parts as well as application and aftermarket manufacturer information. Another screen allows you to view OEM price changes by date of change. Also, you can print a catalog of CAPA Certified parts offered by each aftermarket manufacturer as well as a list of CAPA Certified replacement parts available
for each OEM manufacturer.

Q: Why do I need Partslink?

A: Partlink gives you the information on a monthly basis that would take an
employee or two the same time or longer to compile, and our data incorporates
all three estimating systems information.

Q: What do I do with this stuff when I get it?

A: After you commit to using the Partslink number and assign it to all your
parts, then all of the new data you receive can be mapped to that number that
doesn't change. The same number is used even if the OEM number changes. In
time the only information you will need to send the estimating systems will
be a Partslink number and the price that you modify from our data.

Q: What if I start selling a new part with no number?

A: If you get a part without a Partslink number check the most recent new
parts only file. If the part isn't in that file call or fax us and we will
get one. Most manufacturers are working with Partslink to ensure this number
goes on the box of every new part sent to this country.

Q: I sell some parts that aren't the same as OEM so they don't have an OEM
number, how do you handle that?

A: Some aftermarket parts contain more or less parts in an assembly than the
OEM, and sometimes we can use a good OEM number to identify an assembly when
that's all the aftermarket supplies to get a match in the estimating systems.
Some parts just aren't made by the OEM that are made in the aftermarket and
we will never have a good number match, this results in no match possible in
the estimating systems.

Q: I tried Partslink before and they never updated it, so it didn't work right. Why would it work now?

A: Partslink even in it's early days worked well. Some problems did come up because information wasn't getting out to its customers. The data was updated using a bulletin board, this type of system proved to confusing and expensive. Now with ABPA in charge all updates and services will be available
online.
