Website Links to OEM Position Statements on Aftermarket Parts

Ever wonder what auto manufacturers think about aftermarket parts? Officially, I mean.

Now you can read the official position statements of a dozen auto manufacturers by visiting www.oem1stop.com/position-statements. The website current posts links to press releases, official statements and technical bulletins about aftermarket parts from a dozen automakers. You can also link to OEM statements on reconditioned parts, salvage parts and airbags.

As you might imagine, none of the manufacturers offer glowing endorsements of aftermarket parts. Most offer dire warnings about the quality of “imitation” parts and caution that the use of aftermarket parts may void manufacturer warranties and extended service plans.
