The Collision Repair Education Foundation announced the appointment of two new members to its board of trustees, including Ty Gamill, Caliber Collision Centers, and Sean Huurman, Service King Collision Repair Centers.
Through the guidance, support and direction of the board of trustees, the Collision Repair Education Foundation is able to continue its support of secondary and post-secondary collision students, their school programs and instructors.
Russ Hoffbauer, chairman of the Foundation board, said, “We are excited to have Ty and Sean join the board representing their respective companies and the collision repair industry. They truly understand and have experienced the shortage of skilled collision repair technicians and can help the organization continue its work to support collision repair students and schools.”
Clark Plucinski, executive director of the Foundation, said, “The Collision Repair Education Foundation is thrilled to include these dedicated individuals to our Board of Trustees. The support, leadership and generous support of our board strengthens the collision repair education system.”
In addition, the Collision Repair Education Foundation is requesting year-end, in-kind donations of products, tools, equipment and spare parts that will be distributed to high school and college collision school programs. These tax-deductible donations will provide a great start to the spring school semesters during a time when instructors are facing limited program budgets and expected to graduate well-trained and productive entry-level staff for industry employment.
Another year-end opportunity for support includes companies sponsoring student safety kits for local high school and college collision programs. For $50 per student, each safety kit includes a Cintas work shirt and work pants. Companies that sponsor at least 20 safety kits will have their corporate logo added to the work shirts, which the students would wear around the school and local community. The Collision Repair Education Foundation would arrange a time for the sponsoring companies to present the safety kits to the local collision school students when they begin their spring school semester after the New Year.
Industry members interested in making year-end product donations and/or sponsoring collision student safety kits for local high school and college collision school programs should contact Brandon Eckenrode, Collision Repair Education Foundation director of development, at Brandon.Eckenrode@ed-foundation.org or 847-463-5244.
