Washington D.C. – The Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA) announces that the People’s Insurance Company of China Limited (Group – PICC Property & Casualty Ltd.), the largest property and casualty insurer in China, recently made over 150 CAPA Certified part numbers available. PICC concurrently announced the establishment of their e-commerce platform to facilitate distribution of these parts in China. The certified part types include hoods, fenders, grilles, and bumper covers.
In November 2016, CAPA and PICC were joined by the China Automotive Maintenance and Repair Association (CAMRA) collision repair committee, and Intertek Shanghai, the certification body of the CAPA program in China, in signing a strategic agreement to collaborate to bring diverse areas of expertise to the China market. Intertek Shanghai played a significant role in implementing the agreement after members of CAPA’s Board visited principals in Beijing.
“This is another major milestone for CAPA as we continue to support the certification of quality parts in China,” stated Jack Gillis, CAPA Executive Director. Added Debbie Klouser, CAPA Director of Operations, “We applaud PICC for leading the way to make high quality CAPA Certified parts available to Chinese consumers.”
