ABPA Opposes Texas House Bill 1321

On April 10, 2023, the ABPA submitted opposition to Texas House Bill 1321 (2023), which will adversely affect Texas drivers as it would limit consumer choice by restricting aftermarket automotive parts in favor of more expensive car company branded parts.

HB 1321 would not achieve its goal as Texas drivers would be adversely affected should they be limited to having their vehicles repaired only with car company branded parts as stated. Consumers will be affected financially by higher part pricing due to lack of competition and higher insurance costs due to the higher costs of parts. Consumers will also face delays in getting their vehicles repaired and more vehicles will be totaled due to interruptions in the supply chain.
