On February 28, 2025, the ABPA submitted opposition to Utah House Bill 522 (2025), which includes provisions requiring written consent from the vehicle owner for the use of non-OEM parts in repairs, which we believe could confuse and mislead consumers. This legislation, if enacted, will have significant negative consequences for Utah drivers by increasing vehicle repair costs, raising insurance premiums, and limiting consumer choice in automotive repairs.
