CAR Coalition: New Mexico Mechanics Join Nationwide Push to Pass the REPAIR Act

Source: CAR Coalition

In a new video from The CAR Coalition, Dustin and Nolan Brown (owners of Brown’s Automotive Experts in Albuquerque, New Mexico) highlight what the bipartisan REPAIR Act (H.R. 1566/S. 1379) means for them.

“Simple repairs such as doing brakes, or even changing tires, now require access to the computer. If we don’t have access to the tools we need to plug into the computer, [there’s] a lot of time, a lot of money, a lot of resources being wasted,” says Dustin. He understands the strain these restrictions put on members of his community. “Consumers can’t wait weeks or months to get their cars fixed!”

A family-owned small business, the Browns’ shop has nearly 50 employees who service more than 1,000 vehicles a month.

Per Dustin, “The REPAIR Act is critical to allow us to be able to fix cars right, the first time, and in a timely manner.”

Nolan agrees: “Congress needs to act NOW.”
