The Automotive Body Parts Association (ABPA) has been made aware of a possible phishing email circulating to some members. The email appears to be sent by an individual falsely claiming to be the new “Lead Accountant” for the ABPA. This individual is not affiliated with the ABPA.
Members are advised to exercise caution when receiving unexpected or unfamiliar emails that claim to be from the ABPA—especially those requesting payment, sensitive information, or immediate action.
As a reminder:
- The ABPA does not change accounting contacts without clear, direct communication.
- Any requests that seem unusual or inconsistent with past ABPA communications should be independently verified.
If you receive an email that you believe may be suspicious, please do not respond. Instead, contact Executive Director Ed Salamy directly or reach out to one of your known ABPA accounting contacts to confirm legitimacy.
If your organization regularly communicates with the ABPA, we strongly encourage you to share this alert internally with anyone who may have received this message or could be targeted by similar emails.
Thank you for your continued vigilance and for helping protect the ABPA membership community.
