A new bill has been “pre-filed” in the New York state assembly that, if passed and enacted, would require repair shops to notify vehicle owners up front about which type of repair parts are being used on their vehicle (OEM, aftermarket, recycled, etc.), and to obtain written authorization from the vehicle owner before installing the parts.
